2007: Archive Women of Vision 2007

The Women of Vision (WOV) Awards honor women making significant contributions to technology in three categories: Innovation, Leadership and Social Impact. Nominees are submitted by hi-tech companies, universities, private industry and the public, with one winner selected in each category. More outstanding women will be honored at the next Women of Vision dinner gala.

Recipients
We honor this year’s recipients - Deborah Estrin, University of California Los Angeles, for Innovation; Leah H. Jamieson, Purdue University, for Social Impact; and Duy-Loan T. Le, Texas Instruments, for Leadership.
Our keynote speaker will be Esther Dyson and Sydnie Kohara, CBS 5 Eyewitness News Anchor, will be our master of ceremonies.
Categories
Innovation recognizes a woman who has contributed significantly to technology innovation. The innovation might be creating unusual and important technology or approaching developing technology in a significantly new and innovative way, such as by bringing diverse people and experiences together in the technology creation process.
Social Impact recognizes a woman who developed or applied technology with a significant impact on society and/or the community. These people are creating or employing technologies that are changing our world in positive ways.
Leadership recognizes a woman who has led an important technology development or innovation, made a significant contribution to the technology industry, and someone who inspires others.

The Women of Vision Awards Gala will be held at the Fairmont Hotel in San Jose, California. Learn more about the gala. You may register for the gala February 1 through April 23 2007.
