Getting Past the Interview Gateway

The beauty of the Systers community is a that it gives us a chance to ask questions that we can’t find answers to among our circle of friends or family, a chance to consult with women who have a lot more experience in the job market and as technical women, and an opportunity to discuss issues that we fear might be only to do with us personally but might just apply to all women in technical fields.

The Anita Borg Institute Now Accepting Scholarship Applications for Annual Grace Hopper Celebration

The Anita Borg Institute (ABI), a non-profit organization focused on the advancement of women in the high-tech industry, today opened scholarship applications for entry to the Grace Hopper Celebration for Women in Computing (GHC). The GHC Scholarship program seeks to broaden the participation of women and underrepresented minorities in computing by enabling a wide variety of students who otherwise may not have the means to attend and participate in the Grace Hopper Celebration.

ABI Comes to New York

On Tuesday evening, March 12th, 100 technical women (and some men who support them) gathered at Facebook in New York to network and learn about the Anita Borg Institute. ABI has been asked by people in the New York community to bring our expertise to their exploding technical scene. We want to help make sure that women are positioned to participate fully in the innovation which is creating the future there.
